Jin Shin Jyutsu

What is the Art of Jin Shin Jyutsu?

Jin Shin Jyutsu is a physio-philosophy that involves the application of the hands for gently balancing the flow of life energy in the body; more generally, it is the awakening to awareness of complete harmony within the self and the universe.

Jin Shin Jyutsu is an ancient Japanese Art of harmonizing life energy within the body.

Said to predate Buddha and Moses, it was rediscovered in the early 1900's by Master Jiro Murai, who, after recovery from "terminal" illness, devoted himself to the revival of the Art for future generations. He believed that the capacity to use this Art is born to all of us, like our hands, the tools with which it is applied.

Literally defined, Jin Shin Jyutsu is the Art of the Creator expressed through knowing and compassionate man.

How does Jin Shin Jyutsu work?

Jin Shin Jyutsu brings balance to the body's energies, which promotes optimal health and well being, and facilitates our own profound healing capacity. It is a valuable complement to conventional healing methods, inducing relaxation and reducing the effects of stress.

Jin Shin Jyutsu employs twenty-six "safety energy locks" along energy pathways that feed life into our bodies. When one or more of the paths becomes blocked, the resulting stagnation can disrupt the local area and eventually disharmonies the complete path of energy flow. Holding these energy locks in combination can bring balance to mind, body, and spirit.

Learning Jin Shin Jyutsu engages one in self study, self help. Through the process of "now know myself" we recognise the wisdom of the body, and we learn to interpret the messages provided and utilise them to restore balance.

What to expect during a Jin Shin Jyutsu treatment

A Jin Shin Jyutsu session generally lasts about an hour. It does not involve massage, manipulation of muscles, or the use of drugs or substances. It is a gentle art, practiced by placing the fingertips (over clothing) on designated safety energy locks, to harmonise and restore the energy flow. This facilitates the reduction of tension and stress which accumulate through normal daily living.

Jin Shin Jyutsu during pregnancy

Jin Shin Jyutsu is excellent for preparing for pregnancy and during pregnancy. As the Art works with the subtle energies of your body it can ease pregnancy discomforts as well as support the development of your unborn child.

Feedback from clients

"I had one Jin Shin Jyutsu session with Deborah focussing on a problem that I had had for years, namely eyes that did not produce enough fluid and became very red and irritated frequently. After one day my eyes completely cleared up and I have never experienced the problem since." --- AG, London

"I am a serious runner and I'd had an ankle which plagued me on and off for years. A year or two ago I broke down while running along the South Bank of the Thames and was limping for three weeks. When Deborah suggested I try Jin Shin Jyutsu I thought "well it can't do any harm". I lay on the table, went to sleep for half an hour, woke up and it was finished. The next day on my way to the tube station I noticed I was no longer limping. I ran five miles that day and I haven't had a problem since. I don't know how it works - but it does!!"
